While Insomniac have since released a Miles Morales spin-off and announced a standalone Wolverine game, a fully-fledged sequel was only a matter of time. It’s been almost five years since the original hit the shelves, and players are desperate for any slither of information. Insomniac Games are hard at work on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the follow-up to one of the most critically acclaimed superhero games of all time.
Performance Review – Fidelity Mode Vs Performance Mode On Ps5
When the original Marvel’s Spider-Man arrived back in 2018, comic book fans quickly hailed it as one of the best superhero games of all time, with many ranking it alongside the Batman Arkham series. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 stars Peter Parker and Miles Morales, facing off against three iconic Spider-Man villains. The first is Kraven the Hunter (Sergey Kravenoff), who arrives to New York alongside his gang to hunt who he perceives to be a worthy opponent. Said prey is the Lizard (Dr. Curt Connors), the second villain of the game, who Peter and Miles have to save from Kraven’s hunters. The pair does not work together as well as they used to, as Miles notices his older colleague gradually change.
PC optimization has long been a tricky part of porting games, though Insomniac has worked to bring the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 up to speed, making it a valid way to play for those who may not have a PlayStation 5. The studio confirmed last year that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would not receive any story-driven DLC content, a decision that likely came as a surprise to players, though the base game features plenty of web-slinging action for players to enjoy. That being said, Spider-Man (2018) switched perspectives between its characters from mission to mission, and this is set to continue in the sequel. The gameplay revealed so far showed that players will be able to switch webheads at specific moments, allowing players to experience the story from both Peter’s and Miles’ points of view. Perhaps the Symbiote saved Harry Osborn, and he subsequently becomes the Venom in this version of the story. It’s unclear how Peter Parker gets the Venom Symbiote, but players will be able to experience him in the iconic black Symbiote suit, which seems to be affecting his personality negatively.
1Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, built-in microphone may require USB connection and are available when supported by game. Slice into the action of ‘Marvel’s Wolverine,’ launching on PS5 in Fall 2026. In df999 -Man 2 on PC with ray reconstruction enabled, we see more detailed ray-traced reflections and better-defined ray-traced shadows, especially when viewing raytracing effects at steep angles.
For Platinum you need 100% district completion which requires finding all 160 collectibles. The collectibles get marked when unfogging the map (except Spider-Bots) so they are easy to find. The map gets unfogged when reaching District Completion Level 2 (from finding Collectibles) or going everywhere manually to unfog a radius around you. All of the quest-related trophies come from the story and district completion.
Here’s what you need to do to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on AMD RX 580. There will be no shortage of games to play in January, but don’t count on any spectacular launches. Accompanying the highly anticipated sequel at launch, Sony has confirmed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have its own custom PS5 bundle along with a unique DualSense controller design to boot. During the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase, Insomniac Games revealed some gameplay of the upcoming title, which you can see above. The popular anti-hero may serve as a villain, a not-so-friendly ally in a greater battle, or perhaps even a mix of both throughout the game. Insomniac shared the Story Trailer for Spider-Man 2, giving not only a better look at the plot of the sequel, but many of the characters involved too.

The game opens with a battle against a super-sized Marko Flint, known as Sandman, as he towers above Midtown. You swap between both Miles and Peter to bring him down as he blasts apart whole city blocks in a blind rage. Releasing exclusively on PlayStation 5, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to two past titles — one a familiar Peter Parker origin story; the other, Miles Morales’ main gaming debut. The DLC also brings back multiple characters from the base game like Yuri Watanabe, Silver Sablinova and Screwball, just to name a few.
As Peter and Miles attempt to stop Venom, Peter is debilitated by a trace amount of the symbiote still within him. After Miles settles his differences with Li, the latter uses his powers to convert Peter’s symbiote traces into the Anti-Venom symbiote, which can destroy other symbiotes. Concurrently, Venom recovers the meteorite that originally brought him to Earth and empowers himself with it, accelerating his infestation on New York. Peter and Miles distract Venom while Mary Jane steals the meteorite and destroys it with the EMF’s particle accelerator, destroying Venom’s symbiote horde.
I’m exploring the virtual space as Miles Morales, co-star of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, whose presence elevates Insomniac’s latest title to a level of art worthy of Hughes’ poem. It’s a game about web-slinging and fistfights, sure, but it’s also about sacrifice and redemption, and every mile of its gorgeously-textured New York teems with human stories that redefine what heroism means. The book came out at the same time as the game did, in November 2020, and it depicts Miles’ struggles as he fights to figure out what type of Spider-Man he wants to become, all while battling his own personal problems. The gameplay itself should remain unchanged from the PS5 version, just with more graphic options, and will be better looking for the most part.
Other than that, they have one exclusive skill tree each, making for three in total. We’ll gain many abilities known from the previous games as well as some entirely new ones, unique for each character, coming in handy in combat and during stealth. Miles, for example, can attach a string of web between two specific points, letting him get above enemies and take them out quietly – even two at a time if they position themselves correctly. Other skills include chaining lightning or releasing lightning bursts. A Spider-Man 2 trailer with an extended gameplay demonstration was revealed during the latest PlayStation Showcase.

For it to count you have to activate these abilities DURING a Symbiote Surge (after the yellow bar in top right is fully charged and you pressed + to activate it). If you use these abilities without enabling Symbiote Charge it won’t count. 4 of them are automatically unlocked from story progress (unmissable) and 2 are bought from Peter’s skill tree. While the Symbiote Surge is active you have to trigger Symbiote Abilities a total of 25 times. Equip 4 of these abilities and make sure they are all charged and ready before activating the Surge. Then you can spam all 4 abilities in quick succession before the Surge ends.
This Spider-Bot, JJJ, can be found close to the Northern border of Greenwich. On the map screen, locate the building that looks like a chevron arrow pointing South-West (called Glam). You’ll be looking for a building to the North-East of it on the corner of an intersection, close to where a wind tunnel snakes around to the North. The Spider-Bot will be crawling near the top of the South-Eastern wall. Collecting them all will unlock a cool and unique quest you don’t want to miss, which you can read about at the bottom of this page.
Having already killed Scorpion, Vulture, Shocker, and Electro, Kraven attempts to capture Black Cat. However, Miles helps her escape to Paris by using the mystical Wand of Watoomb. Meanwhile, Otto obsesses over creating enhanced limbs that exceed the human body’s limitations, creating four mechanical tentacles operated from his back and mentally controlled via a neural interface. He reveals to Peter that he is suffering from a neuromuscular disease that will inevitably immobilize him and that enhanced limbs will allow him to continue his work when his body fails.
The first Spider-Man game from Insomniac received numerous DLCs post-launch. Multiple characters and stories within Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 likewise seemed to be setting up DLC, particularly the storyline involving Carnage. Because of this, many fans speculated over what would be in store for Peter Parker and Miles Morales when Spider-Man 2 DLC finally arrived. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the open-world sequel to the web-slinger’s first game by Insomniac Games, is coming to PC late in January 2025.
I won’t even hint at any of these except to say that Spider-Man 2 opens with a bang, offering up a sense of scale not previously seen in the series. It’s an adrenaline-fuelled reintroduction to the series that tests how well you remember the combat, as well as providing a few new tricks. It’s also the start of one of the new side-story villain threads that are optional, and while those don’t offer anything overly new in terms of gameplay, they do add valuable extra scraps of story. They flesh out these villains, allowing fully formed characters to emerge where once they were merely one-and-done boss battle appearances. Much like Marvel’s Spider-Man, the sequel also has a slow, but steady build-up, as the game begins with an action segment where players have to save Manhattan from the Sandman.
